Friday daytime social

The Friday daytime social

This year everyone that have arrived early enough to join in on the Friday daytime social are in for a real treat! Here is the outline of the guided tour, lunch and outdoor rueda de casino:

Meet in the hotel lobby a bit before 10:30, in order to start the tour not long after. Remember to take a look at the weather to dress sensibly. This famous Jæren area is widely known for its weather, and early September may offer a chilly and windy autumn day as well as an “Indian summer”- day.

Meet our local guide Ingrid Iversen. She will take us through some wonderful scenery and tell you interesting historical facts about the area.

From our congress hotel we will have a nice little walk to the Sola church ruins, an ancient church with a rich history and beautiful view.

After our short visit around the church, the tour continues to the wonderful beach of Sola which is nominated as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

When reaching the white, sandy Sola beach we really hope for a summer day 1st of September and not the early autumn, so that we can dip our toes into the North Sea.
There are some quite interesting 2nd world war history from the Sola beach area that our guide will let us in on, and you can still see remains after the war around. Finally we will end our tour at the historical Sola beach hotel, where the hotel manager also will show us some interesting sights from the 2nd world war in the hotel cellar….

It´s close to 12:00” and time for lunch, which we will have at this beautiful hotel. They offer a warm lunch at 100 NOK (optional), both a vegetarian and a non-vegetarian option.

Our dj Havanaloco will get us warmed up with some great cuban tunes, and of course we will finish the tour with some Rueda de Casino dancing!

Appr. 14:00 we will be back at the congress venue, a 10-15 minute stroll from the Sola Beach Hotel.
